The boy, he's cold and twenty-something,
Dark hair, bright blue eyes.
His day starts just like any other,
No reason for his eyes to arise.
Down goes the elevator
Down through the floors
Down goes, the elevator stops.
Opens its doors
In walks the Girl
Up looks the boy
Their eyes meet for a second and
Somebody hits the elevator stop button.
Their eyes are gazing
Their fingers interlock
Their lips are touchin,
But nobody's watching them
Down goes the elevator
Down through the floors
Left walk the girl, right walks the boy
-Chorus-
Its okay now, in the city of broken lights
Just another day and twenty lonely nights
The boy he wants to be an actor
Came down just to make it big
Too much pride to work as a waiter,
Doesn't know how its going to kill him
-Ch-
Now the boy's too old
He is thirty-seven
Lives in a shoebox on the side of the street
He's going to die if he doesn't call home.
"Someone please help me..."
-Ch-
Its okay now, you don't have to think twice
Its NYC where the people don't apologize.
